Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 3, 2026
This site does exactly one thing: it lets you join a mailing list. So this policy is short. Here’s everything we do with your information. All of it, honestly.
What we collect
Your email address. That’s it. No name, no location, no profile. The signup form has one field because we only want one thing.
How you get on the list
When you sign up, we email you a confirmation link. You’re not on the list until you click it. Typo? Someone signed you up as a prank? No click, no list. This is called double opt-in. We call it basic manners.
What we use it for
Sending you the updates you asked for. That’s the whole job. We email when something real happens. Nothing else, to no one else, for no other reason.
Who handles it
Buttondown, our email service, stores the list and sends the emails for us. They act only on our instructions, and they’ve agreed in writing to treat your data properly.
No analytics, full stop
We don’t run analytics on this site. No cookies, no trackers, nothing loaded into your browser to watch you. That’s why there’s no cookie banner here: there’s nothing to consent to. Our web host keeps the ordinary traffic counts every web host keeps, and that’s all we ever see. We’re a little proud of that.
What we never do
Sell the list. Rent the list. Share the list. Your email address travels exactly one route: from you to us, and back to your inbox.
Leaving
Unsubscribe anytime. Every email has the link, and it takes one click. No guilt trip, no exit survey.
How long we keep it
While you’re subscribed, we keep your address. That’s how we email you. If you unsubscribe, or you never click the confirmation link, your address may stay on a do-not-email suppression list. That list exists for one reason: to make sure we honor your choice and never email you again. It’s used for nothing else.
Your rights
Your email address is yours. You can ask us to show you what we have (spoiler: your email address), correct it, delete it, object to how we use it, or hand it over in a portable format. Email hello@getchartreuse.com. A real person reads that inbox, and we’ll sort it out. If you think we’ve handled your data badly, you can also complain to your local data protection supervisory authority. We’d rather you tell us first so we can fix it.
